Floral Frenzy

Hello,

Well, I've been feeling a bit grotty since New Year's Eve, just a cold that wouldn't go away. I started getting a bit of pain in my back so I finally made it to the doc's this morning. It turns out I have a chest infection. So that's the week off work and I've been told not to do anything but rest! I might find that last one a bit hard, I'm not one for sitting around!
Luckily I had already made my card for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is Floral Frenzy, I just had to do the post. So I'm sat here in front of the telly, with a big mug of tea and my feet up!!

I haven't got many rubber stamps, so this card is made with a Stickeroo. I love these, they are so quick and easy to use. I have promised myself some more stamps but I'm on a spending freeze until the end of March! (Not sure I'll be able to stick to that. LOL). The lilac dotty background paper is one of my favourites from Craft Creations. The daisy flowers are Anita's peel off stickers and I've used a Martha Stewart punch, a bit of white ribbon and a few coloured gems.

That's all for now, I suppose I ought to get some rest!
Enjoy your day

Oh Boy!

Hello,

The challenge over at Lilies Little Fairies this week is 'Oh Boy'. As I have lots of 7 year olds birthdays coming up in February, this challenge has helped to focus my mind on all the boys cards I have to make!
I have used LOTV stamp 'Karate Kid' for this card. It's the first time I've used this stamp and for some reason I just couldn't get the hair quite right!

The background paper is from Dovecraft. I used an Xcut border punch on the side and covered with a piece of black ribbon. I added a LOTV sentiment and a few black gems. Now, I need to go and make lots more boys cards!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A Thank You

Hello,
I was asked to make a Thank You card, that wasn't too fussy, had some sort of floral image but wasn't too young either! And this is what I came up with.....

I printed the message onto the base card and covered the bottom with pink dotty paper from Craft Creations. The die cut decoupage is by Reddy from Crafters Companion. It is so easy to put together and there is much more detail than I could get using scissors!

The decoupage doesn't really show up very well on a photo but I was very pleased with the result. I finished off with a bit of pink ribbon and some pearls. I hope they like it!

Bye for now

The Fantastic Four

Hello,
I have so many boys birthdays coming up in February that I thought I'd better make a start on all the cards I will need. Boys cards are always hard, but while I was looking through my stash I came across some marvel hero's decoupage papers. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed doing these. Today's card is The Fantastic Four.
I bought the kit from create and craft, and other than the base card all the elements are from the kit. The backing paper is covered with blue acetate and then the 3D image built up on top. Unfortunately the photo doesn't really show up the 3D element very well.

Until next time

Busy Tuesday

Hello everyone,
Well, I can't believe I've managed to get into my craft room 2 days running! Actually, that's not quite true, it's such a mess in there I had to grab a few bits and pieces and work at the kitchen table! This is the card I came up with.

Penny Black Saturday challenge is to make a card using a crafty bargain. I was given a box of bits and pieces from a friend who knew I was having a go at rubber stamping and this stamp was in the box. All it cost me was a bottle of red wine! The stamp is called 'Balloon Madness'.
I've coloured the image with promarkers and used glossy accents on the balloons.

The background paper is from the nitwits collection 'Val 'n tine'. I love all of the papers in the collection, it's difficult to decide which to use next! The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I have used white sweetheart blossom flowers, 2 tone mulberry open roses 25mm, and floral foundations pink roses 15mm set B.

I've finished off with a bit of ribbon and some pink gems. I really ought to tidy my craft room soon, or I may never get in there again!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges

Have a good week

Lavender & Lace

Hello,

This is my first card for a week!I thought I really should try and get something posted so this is my attempt at Lavender and Lace for the Lilies Little Fairies Challenge. I'm not very good at doing things frilly and fussy so I found putting lace on a card quite hard, it's not something I generally use!

The rubber stamp is Lili of the Valley's 'Fairy on Tiptoe'. I've coloured the image with promarkers to fit the lavender theme and just added a little bit of glitter on her fairy wings. The paper is from a papermania pack that I've had for years, but I thought the colour worked well.I've added some lace down the side on top of a piece of card edged with a Martha Stewart punch. I've tried my best on the card but this photo must be the worst I've taken, LOL!

Until next time

A busy start to the week

Hello,

Well, what a start to the week. I was rushing round on Sunday night to find some small boxes for my daughter to take to school. She has to make an inuksuk! Most of our cardboard goes straight in the recycling bin so I ended up having to empty things out of their boxes. My cupboard is a right mess. Then after all that she decided to come down with a horrible cold and hasn't been to school!
Anyway while she was chilling out watching Cinderella today I managed to make a quick card. She did help me choose the paper and colours. . . so it's pink!

I used a Penny Black slapstick stamp - 'Hedgehog kisses', and used promarkers to colour them in. Emma was adamant that the balloons had to be pink! The background paper is from Nit Wits - Val 'n' tine collection. These are really pretty pink papers so it's really hard to choose one - I love all of them, and think they will appear on quite a few of my cards!
I've added some mulberry paper flowers down the side of the image. I haven't used these before, but after seeing cards done by other people, I just had to have a go!

I think the flowers are so pretty - it's going to cost me a fortune as I'll have to get them in different colours! They are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I've used white sweetheart blossom flowers, 2 tone mulberry open roses 25mm, and floral foundations pink roses 15mm set B. Finally I covered the balloons with glossy accents (the photo doesn't really show it up) and added a couple of gems.

Until next time - Have a good week

Celebrating Love

Hello everyone,

Two posts in two days - that is good for me! Today's card is an engagement card using a Humphrey's corner CD. The image and background paper were both printed from the CD. There are some fabulous images on this CD, they are such cute little elephants!

I've used some peel off stickers for the flowers which I stuck onto a scrap of red card and then covered with glossy accents.

I finished the card with a piece of red ribbon around the middle and a few pearls on the edges.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges

Bye for now

Abracadabra!

Good evening,

My new years resolution was to keep my house nice and tidy. I don't have to go to work on a Thursday so that was going to be my day for washing, ironing cleaning etc, etc. Did I do any today?. . . no! I got home from the school run and thought I would just have a sit down with the computer and a cup of tea (to warm up, very cold out there today!). The next thing I know, my craft room is a mess, I've done no cleaning and it's time to go and pick the kids up from school! So here's one of today's creations that stopped me from tidying up!

I just love this rubber stamp from Lili of the Valley. It's called 'Abracadabra!' The paper is from a collection by Brenda Pinnick that I bought many moons ago from QVC. I cut the star with an xcut die from some scraps of green and black card (Another new years resolution to use up all the bits and pieces I never throw away!) I have edged some more black card with an xcut boder punch and added some black seam binding around the middle. It's finished off with a few black gems. One of my son's friends has his 7th birthday next week - so I hope he likes this card!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - CASE IT

Hello everyone,

I can't believe I'm doing yet another post onto my blog. It's only 3 months ago that I couldn't download a photograph from my camera onto the computer! I know I've still got alot to learn so if you have any useful hints or tips, I'd be really happy to hear from you!

I've made this card to enter the Penny Black Saturday Challenge week 183 - CASE IT.  I haven't built up a collection of rubber stamps yet so the image on this card is a penny black stickeroo. I put it on white card and cut it out, then used foam pads to give it a bit of depth.

The red dotty paper and dark blue striped paper are both from Craft Creations. I used an x-cut die for the star shapes and a lit bit of card candy to finish with.
I will have to invest in some more rubber stamps because I really love this little hedgehog!

Lili of the Valley

Hello,

Lili of the Valley have some fantastic Candy up for grabs. They have 12 stamps to give away to one lucky winner. I have tried to put a link to their site on my sidebar, I think it works OK - hope so!

Happy New Year to all. This is my first post since the 29th December. I came down with a horrible virus on New Year's Eve and still don't feel great. Making cards usually makes me feel better, but this one has taken some doing!! I need to lie down now!

As I'm new to rubber stamping, I don't actually own very many stamps so I have used a Lili of the Valley die cut image for this card. I cut it out and used 3D foam to give it a bit of depth. (Not that you can tell from the photo!). The paper is 'Pink Large Flowers' from Craft Creations. And the daisies are Anita's peel off stickers on white card, with a bit of bling added on.

I'd like to enter this card into

Lili's Little Fairies Challenge 1 - New Beginnings
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes.

That's all for now
